Welcome to COSSA Practical Shooters (CPS)

Safety Requirement: If you are planning on shooting at one of our local events for the first time, please create an account on the website (free) and take the required online safety quiz. Thanks!

New Shooters: For your first event, we want to you focus on safety. We offer to pair you up with a mentor during your first event (or whenever you want) if you would like one.  Your mentor is there to answer any questions, help you with your firearms, and walk you through the basics of safe shooting. Please do not buy a bunch of gear before your first event. Come out and borrow gear or observe an event and talk with the shooters. After that, decide on what you want for gear.  If you are a shooter who would like to borrow gear (firearms, ammunition, holsters, etc), please feel free to contact us and we will work with you. Don't let a lack of gear prevent you from attending an event!

We recommend shooters have a basic knowledge of their firearms (how to load, unload, and work the firing controls). If you are not familiar with your firearm(s) please contact us. We can work to arrange one-on-one instruction for you with a friendly and knowledge member, or we do offer Introduction to Shooting clinics on a semi-regular basis.

Observers are always welcome to come and watch our events. If you wish we can assign you a mentor as well.

Juniors are welcome to come compete or observe. Junior shooters are considered ages 12 to 17. All junior shooters need a parent/guardian with them at the event. If your junior shooter is below the age of 12, please contact us to discuss options.
